SPRING 2007 CLASSES at the ART HOUSE ACADEMY
TAA offers a full slate of after-school, evening and weekend arts education for children, teens and adults. Beginners and experienced artists alike can choose from studio art, art history, or musical and theatrical performance education.
Children’s classes start at age 5, with adult classes starting at 15 or 18. Classes held on the first floor of the facility are scheduled as listed below. More classes will be scheduled pending the opening of the second floor of the facility.

“FINGERPRINTS” CHILDREN’S ART EDUCATION
FINGERPRINTS CERAMICS
MASKS & FIGURES: Ceramics after School (Ages 5-14)
Mentor: Betsy Foreman
Six projects incorporating a variety of ceramic techniques such as pinching, slabbing, coiling and throwing. Past projects: cups, tiles, masks, bowls, figures, and bird houses.
Mondays and Wednesdays, dates in February and March to be announced.
Student minimum is five, call to reserve space in class.

NOTES FROM THE FIELD: Beginning Photojournalism (Ages 7-12)

Single-use cameras and notebooks open kids to the world of documentary journalism.

SIGN UP NOW FOR CHILDREN’S SUMMER THEATER CAMP, JULY 9-14, 2007.
A full week of theater camp, five hours each day includes acting and singing for all participants, costumes provided. Two one-act plays at the Greater Center on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
Performance will be videotaped for community access television.
Grades 1-10, $125 per child, and 10% discount for members. Registration forms and a $50 non-refundable deposit is due by June 22nd.
ACTING WORKSHOP (ages 8-16)
Tuesdays at 4:30 pm -5:30 pm starting in late February (Dates TBA)
4 sessions working on auditioning, terminology, scene study, monologue writing, improvisation and characterization. Course will show the difference between film and theater acting techniques.

ADULT ACTING (Ages 17 and up)

A classical, all-level pastel painting course focusing on the development of a painting: drawing, composition, values, and color. Learn how to create depth using both soft and hard edges. Painting techniques will be presented; how to paint from photographs and how to solve specific problems.
